T7 Case - exercise to refined design
First, we’d like to thank everyone who expressed interest in the T7 case project. This started out as an exercise to use the xTool F1 to apply a laser engraved design on a multifaceted object and strive for better integration of that design with the shape of the object. It evolved into a more involved design that included upgrades to dust sealing and improvements to structural integrity.
After a couple weeks of cleaning-up the file & refining the design, we are happy to say we have some options available for you if you’d like to have one of your own.
From our original design, we incorporated some upgrades into this short-run case, improving dust-sealing with the addition of upper and lower gaskets. And since it was designed around an SSD hard drive, we were able to magnetize the base for a unique storage capability. Interested in a look behind the scenes? Check out our YouTube video on the process here.
With the digital files, you’ll receive the parts list along with the 3D printing, and laser engraving files. We will also include template files that can be used in anything that can import an SVG or PDF file, including engraving and plotter software.
The DIY hardware kit includes all the quality parts & pieces you’ll need to finish building the case once you print it using the digital files. We’ve included multiple colors of gasket material, plus sets of both black and silver screws. After you’ve got all the parts printed, you’ll be able to follow along with our YouTube video and write-up when putting it together. We’ll have a limited number of these to start with, so check them out before they’re gone ;)
